Solar Power Off-Grid Ranch
Introduction
Mark Stevens purchased his off-grid property in 2022. With 40 acres of pristine desert scenery, and proximity to the historic Vulture City mining ghost town, and exquisite furnishings; it was his own slice of heaven which he intended to share with vacation rental guests.
However, the sprawling ranch did not have a reliable power source. Mark Steven had worked with a previous solar installer which had not met his expectations or the needs of a growing business. NewGrid designed a Sol-Ark® system which delivers stable power to his remote Vacation Rental/ Ranch. Since implementing Sol-ark and Pytes batteries, the system now covers all of the sprawling facilities loads and has enabled integration of the facilities 200kW generator into one electrical system.

Delivering Reliable Off-Grid Power
When Mark Purchased his off-grid property in 2022 it included an ~10 year old Sunny Island system with lead-acid batteries and a decades old second-hand 200kw generator which was a hand-me-down been utilized on a gold mining site. The system was disjointed and required frequent manual intervention. Mark knew he had to upgrade his power solution.
Mark hired an installer to upgrade to lithium and Sol-Ark® 12K-2P solar hybrid inverters and Pytes batteries were utilized. Unfortunately the system was drastically underpowered for Mark’s needs. Mark’s property frequently drained the batteries to empty was not capable of supplying power to his loads.
The Results
With power secured, Mark is expecting his first paying guests/customers to the off-grid property in late August of 2024. They will enjoy close access to the Vulture City mining ghost town, as well as beautiful views of the desert landscape.
